Italian Soul.
Quality Leather.

Story

Founded in 1980 by Oscar Cesaro as a genuine leather local wholesaler, Effetigest s.r.l., owner of the Anica® brand, has grown into a global supplier in the international landscape thanks to the vision, determination, and courage of the Cesaros’ second generation. Over its 40 years of experience as a family business, Effetigest has become the trusted partner of the most prestigious brands in the architecture, interior design, yachting, upholstery, furniture, hospitality, and décor industry, sharing its technical and commercial expertise in over 30 countries worldwide.

Mission

Anica® is an Italian specialized supplier and refiner of high quality, genuine, and sustainable leather for an international clientele of businesses and professionals in the architecture, interior design, yachting, upholstery, furniture, hospitality, and décor industry. Since 1980, we pride ourselves on being a family-owned business that became synonymous with fine Italian tradition, superior quality, extensive leather-working expertise, and unparalleled service with a 40-year ongoing commitment to excellence, people, and innovation.

Vision

At Anica®, we are ambitious. Armed with our know-how in traditional leather-working and supported by leading-edge technology, we aim to expand our horizons, becoming ambassadors of the “made in Italy” at a global level. We strive to steadily improve our business practices by cooperating with the most reputable tanneries and maintaining the most rigorous quality assurance controls. We challenge ourselves to inspire others by anticipating market trends and providing our partners with innovative solutions and ideas. We pledge to protect our territory and our environment by supporting our local community and developing more sustainable processes. We promise to uphold our human, Italian soul – now and forever.

Female Entrepreneurship

Anica® speaks pink. Since her parents’ loss in the late 1980s, Paola Cesaro has been at the helm of Anica®. A visionary leader and the middle child of three siblings, supported by her older brother Fabio, Paola left her studies, rolled up her sleeves, and, with firm determination, steered her young company into an uncertain future. At the edge of a new decade of incertitude, Paola is still unafraid of challenging her industry’s status quo with her daring vision, sophisticated aesthetic, and passionate commitment that shaped Anica® into a positive example of female empowerment and Venetian entrepreneurial success.
